27 Free Winter Activities 

I get it no one really likes the winter weather, but it comes anyway. Now that it is here to stay, we might as well enjoy it. With each season, there are some great activities and FREE things that you can do to male those cold and sometimes dreary days full of memories. 

Everyone can get involved with these great winter activities. Create memories with everyone including friends, family, and grandparents.

Outside Activities – Bundle up in your snow gear and head outside.

• Make a snowman
• Make a snow angel
• Go sledding

In the Kitchen – Keep warm by the stove as you fill your house with the smell of homemade cooking/

• Have hot chocolate
• Bake homemade cinnamon rolls
• Cook popcorn
• Bake your favorite cookie
• Have breakfast for dinner
• Make snow ice cream

Get Creative – Let your creative juices flow, and make some homemade gifts at the same time!

• Paint pictures on heavy paper
• Make a scrapbook or photo album from Christmas pictures
• Make sock puppets
• Color in a coloring book
• Build cars, houses, or space ships with Legos

Around the House – Forget the cold outside and make some lasting memories with the family.

• Nerf dart gun war
• Work a 1000 piece puzzle
• Play a board game
• Have a movie marathon
• Play a card game
• Watch old home movies
• Play with a doll house
• Play “I Spy”
• Challenge family members to a Wii bowling tournament

Out in Town – Brave the chilly temperatures and explore the area around you.

• Visit your local library
• Tour a local museum
• Play hide and seek
• Visit your local zoo
