How to Meal Budget

We are in the process of meal budgeting, yes this is such a thing. Budgeting has to be broken down and has to be a science. You have to figure out how much is left over after bills and really set your grocery shopping budget.

Here are a few quick ways to help you get started with this..

  1. First you need to find out if you can eat out at all during the week, if so how much can you spend? Find out how many days a week you will be eating left overs based on your food prep menu.
  2. Are there things that we are buying and not using? We cut back on getting frozen vegetables, it was such an added expense. I miss them because it was super easy and simple, but buying fresh is better and cheaper. Plus we have a garden, so it seems like I can just get them in my backyard.
  3. Find out how much your favorite meal is eating out and how much it would cost you to make. Do the math to see how much you are saving… are you saving time and money or just money? Sometimes it is easier to just order out, but have a budget so that you can do this! It is okay to live a little!
  4. How much do you want to spend on groceries for the week? How much do you want to spend on eating out during the week? These are all things you have to weigh in and consider to make an effective meal prep budget.

What are some ways that you have found that worked for your meal budget?
