Kindergarten Graduation For My Autistic Son

I know that we are halfway through summer and this post seems out of place. However, I wanted to share the story about Antonio’s first year in school! If you follow our journey, Antonio has been on quite the adventure of having autism. However, it has not stopped him or me from working hard each and every day.

I remember the day he was born

I remember the first day I was told he was autistic

I remember the day when I was told he might not ever talk

All of these dates seem so far away from me, it seems like it was just yesterday.

Antonio graduated from Kindergarten in June.

He has worked so hard, harder than anyone I know. He never gave up on himself.

His report cards showed true growth, and I can see the progress that he has made. We are lucky enough to have an amazing staff, teachers, and parents at his school. This has allowed him to truly blossom.

This was the first time he was in a real school. I was incredibly nervous during the first weeks of school. However, I realized that Julie Billiart had the best program ever and was the best decision I made for him.

Over the years we had to go through lots of therapy each one has given us so much support and progress. I am so thankful for all the programs, and the kindness that people show.
