How To Enjoy Single Mom Life In Your 30’s

I’m having an open mind about a lot of things lately. I’m working on finding new things to try and do. Life is an adventure and we have to keep up with it. Since being single, I have felt free to enjoy new things and learn more about myself. It is always essential to have ‘me’ time or even days whenever possible.

Here are the things that I have done AND LOVED. Make sure to find your personal growth and success in yourself and not someone else. The more you learn about yourself the better your life can truly be. I like to be adventurous and spontaneous and feel like I missed out on some of that! I even learned that I am highly competitive!

Engage Virtual Range: I truly love their mission and love their brand. I enjoyed the different virtual ways of shooting guns. I left feeling more confident than I did coming in. I highly recommend going here with friends and family; it is such an enjoyable time and different.

Chess: This one is something that I never thought I would EVER enjoy. However, it helps me to think differently. I was even able to use the strategy piece in my career. Though I have not won a game yet, I enjoy the challenge.

Axe Throwing: I have been wanting to do this for a long time. Over vacation, I did this spontaneously. Again, this one took a bit before I had it narrowed down, but once I did I hit the bullseye every single time. I highly recommend doing this!

Arcade: I love taking my son to an arcade, it is so much fun for both of us! I am finding that I enjoy being competitive. I really liked the basketball game! I surprised myself with how good I was!

Day Club: When I was in Vegas last year, I went to a day club and EDM concert. This was beyond fun, I really enjoyed this new experience and highly recommend it.

Rock climbing: I did this at one of my son’s events. It was a small rock climbing experience, and I want to do a larger one but for now, this was a great experience.

EDM: Electronic Dance Music. I was recently introduced to this too. I love to dance so this helped me bring out new passion and fun into my daily work mode.

Painting: I have always had a creative side to me and I have missed creating new art. I realized that this helps me release my thoughts and emotions and I need to do it more often.

Zumba: I have done this over the years, but recently when I did this over the summer, it was something else. I appreciated it in a different way than ever before. It felt good to get out there and work out.

Rage Range: When I was home in Rochester, there was a rage where my friend and I broke a glass. It was such a HUGE stress release! We threw the glass, and use sledgehammers. I highly recommend trying this!

Drum Fit: This is something new that I have not heard of before. It is kind of like Zumba, but instead, you use an exercise ball and drumsticks while dancing. It really is great cardio, which I did not expect!

Boxing: This one was way outside of my comfort zone. However, it was fun and I enjoyed learning about it.

I plan to try:

  • Zip lining
  • Sky diving

What are you planning on trying?

Life is about constantly growing in all areas of your life and most importantly having fun. I want to keep trying new things and learn more about myself.

How To Gain Control And Power As A Single Mom

At the end of the day and in life, you only have yourself. It doesn’t matter if you have kids, a spouse, parents, etc. YOU are the one who is in charge of your life. You have to be happy with yourself.

As I go back to therapy I realize this more and more. I am the only one who can control the things in my life. As Antonio gets older, he might do things that I do not like or agree with. I can guide him but I cannot make him do anything. This has been sticking with me more and more.

Why? Primarily because this is one of the reasons I became an entrepreneur. I wanted to have freedom and a legacy for my family. I wanted to be in control of myself, success, and life.

I want to protect myself with my assets.

As a business owner, and person, sometimes I do not say no.

Sometimes I overthink and this has to stop. I have to protect myself and the companies that I have built over the years. These are the goals that I am currently working on.

I have to tell myself often lately, that I am in control of my life, thoughts, and actions. What others do, I can not get upset with or try to fix the situation.

My thought for you: as an entrepreneur, there will be times when things don’t go as planned and you want to blame someone.  However, once you realize that you are in control of your life and only yours, that is when you take your power back.

Entrepreneur Life & Balance

People say to me “you are always working.” I feel as though there is always a time when I am working even when I am off. Even if I have a team. This is why I became an entrepreneur. I like the excitement and thrill that comes with it.

Ideas can come to me at any time and I need to work to release my mind.

Someone said ‘you shouldn’t work on the weekends.’ I do not want a typical 9-5 and can work for a short amount of time on the weekends and spend the rest of the time with my son if I want to.

I love my career and love being an entrepreneur. The saying ‘if you love what you do, you won’t feel like you ever worked a day in your life.’ This is 100% true and I couldn’t agree more with it.

The truth is, I work when I want to work. If that is 3 AM when I wake up from a dream and get inspired then so be it. There is nothing wrong with working too much, as long as you can balance life.

I believe that most days, I do have a good balance in life. I do also have boundaries. I think that being a single mom allows for these items to be much more flexible.

Whenever I want to attend something whether, with my son or alone,  I always make sure to think is the best option for my time and son. If it is not, then I decline and move on. This took a lot of discipline over the years. It is important to understand and have balance.

I have realized over the years that it is okay to say no and that I can’t attend everything. Once you realize this, the balance comes into play much easier.

How Childhood Has Helped Me Grow

I used to feel like the outcast of my family. My brothers and father are engineers. I always say they have the brains… & I  have the creativity genes.

Throughout my childhood, I loved dance, photography, arts, painting, etc. In fact, I always created the dance flyers and programs!

I taught dance for a short time in my life. What I realized was that I LOVED seeing the vision come to life; I saw dance moves go along with the music. It brought me so much joy; I guess you can say I had creativity when I was born.

This journey has taken me to where I am today. I love that I was able to create a vision for my clients.

Balancing life as a single mom and entrepreneur

I wish that I had advice for single moms…. balance, and entrepreneur life. I do not have much to say other than I need help. I am burnt out, I am tired.

I beat myself up day in and day out, am I doing what’s best for Antonio? Am I taking time for myself? Am I growing my business the way I have planned?

A year ago, I never thought I would be where I am today, but I also know that it is okay to ask for help. I am grateful and blessed, but sometimes being a full time single mom can be overwhelming.

I see my other friends or entrepreneur friends who are married, and they don’t get it. It is one of the hardest things ever to be a single mom to a special needs child and have a business. I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I just wish there were more awareness and local groups to help cope. Sometimes it can be hard to cope or find people WHO get it and will offer support.

My advice? It is important to choose good people and build trust with others so you can ask for help knowing that you can rely on them. It is also important to know it is okay to take time off of work and enjoy time with your children. Life is too short to not enjoy it.

How to Create a Killer Instagram Story Campaign

Instagram is huge and is one of the best ways to get sales for any business. There are several ways for Instagram to rock. The most popular thing right now is Instagram stories. You can NAIL these and generate new leads and sales. Stories are great because they stay up for only 24 hours, so people have the urgency to click through and take action.

Did you know that you can NOW schedule Instagram Stories and Videos from Tailwind App? You simply load up your video or post, and use Push Notifications to send it to Instagram and into your Stories!

You first have to decide how you’re going to appeal to your audience. Share a personal story or a simple introduction. People want to be able to connect and stories sell. Work in results, before-and-afters, proof of success, etc.

Most of this is best done by you talking to the camera or creating a series of slides. Use polls to help your viewers find the problems that they are having, so you can solve them. For example: “Which Do You Struggle With More?”

Make sure to keep your Story frame visually appealing and interesting (hello branding expert here!). You will want to keep away from not having clear graphics or call to actions. Keep it consistent and clean. Go ahead and schedule those stories with Tailwind.

You will want to share out exactly what your audience needs to do next! You can let them do a poll here, or ask a question. Make sure to engage and interact no matter what. Super easy and friendly, right?

You can do all this and more, just by signing up for Tailwind.

How To Become Better With MOM BUSINESS VACATION

About a year ago, I was in a place where I had no idea how to be a business owner but I knew it was what I wanted to do. I had everything in place but something was missing. It seemed like most days I was struggling to find ways to express my thoughts and feeling and get the encouragement I needed.

One day I found my savior – my sales coach! I knew I needed her as a sales coach, but more than that I needed to be a part of a mastermind. I knew I had to lean in on other female entrepreneurs. It was the best decision I made. We all go through things and need to vent, let thing out, or share success stories with one another.

The best thing that I honestly love is the mastermind retreat. Do not get me wrong I love the online networking we do as well as the sales coaching part, but there is something about the retreat. All of the ladies (mostly mom’s) get together and talk about all things business.

We run away from our family and life for about three to four days. The very first one I went to I had MAJOR anxiety now I feel like we are all family and can’t wait for the next one. They say that everyone should experience a vacation on their own, especially mom’s., I couldn’t agree more…

If we were in a work environment we would have team meetings, right? So why not have something similar for entrepreneurs.  It is truly an amazing experience! I love this idea and love how planned it is (thank you sales coach Renee)

By the way this post is NOT sponsored by any means. It is true thoughts from myself on why everyone needs some sort of vacation.. Whether that vacation is for personal or business is your call. I like to mix both. 😉

It is the best for mental health. You realize how powerful and amazing you are. You come back happy and a changed person. If you go for business and surround yourself with great people you will get the confidence that you need. I know I always come back from the retreat confident and happy; there is something about being around successful female entrepreneurs.

It is a great time for reflecting. We doubt ourselves all the time, we think no one wants to buy from us.. or whatever. I can’t tell you how many times I came back from one of these and launched something new and it SOLD. Now of course there is much more to it than just talking about it, but I made it happen.

So when is the next time you are going to go on a ‘mom vacation?’ —> Join me over in my private little clubhouse for FREE RIGHT NOW, before we no longer accept new members!!

How Rejection Made Me a Better Person; Rejection is okay

How Rejection Made Me a Better Person; Rejection is okay

There once came a time when I was scared of failing and getting rejected. I had been rejected. so many times in my life that I just had that feeling nothing could get better. I am sure you can relate. I had to change my mind and realize that everything is fine, and that was so hard to do. But when you do change your mind you can achieve just about anything. For real.

I want you to know, Rejection is OKAY, though. Not everyone is going to like you, not everyone is going to buy from you. Some people might not be happy with your service or product. That is okay. I am giving you permission to understand this is okay. It doesn’t mean they don’t value you, or your work, but rather that they don’t need it right now. It might mean they have their own problems, whatever it might be.

Furthermore, It is okay to say no and accept no as an answer in life and business. I have turned away customers for numerous ideas, but I did it knowing that I could save my own sanity and time.

When someone rejects you, either personally or professionally, take some time to reflect. Was it because of an internal battle you had with yourself, or were they just not ready? A lot of times it is because of our own insecurities and problems. We doubt ourselves. People can hear it in our voices and see it in our faces. No matter what, keep doors open and look forward. Sometimes things just don’t happen because there isn’t a need for it at that moment.

Once I realized my worth and who I really was, I realized I didn’t care about rejection. Why? Because I knew I was worthy and knew that I could change it around. What other ways can you get rejected? If you send out a proposal after they already agreed that they wanted the job, but now changed their mind. That is hard. However, it is okay. This type of rejection hurts, but it just means you need to get better with closing your sales. It means you need to communicate better with them.

In order to grow in life and business we must accept rejection and turn it into a positive thing. We often will find ourselves in a rut and dealing with self esteem whenever we get rejected. Don’t do it, you will be just fine. —> Join me over in my private little clubhouse for FREE RIGHT NOW, before we no longer accept new members!!
