The Top 5 Tips For Traveling With Kids

Traveling is super fun, even though it can be a pain sometimes with kids. That’s what makes it so amusing and memorable. I did the hardest part, for you and am sharing some great tips for you as you begin your spring and summer journeys:

  1. Important Documents in Your Car: This includes your car manual, insurance information and auto registration, etc. Make sure you have the papers, and that they are updated and accessible.
  2. A Road Atlas: There are many parts of the country that lack decent data coverage. It’s always helpful to have a map handy just in case because we know that gps sometimes doesn’t work!
  3. Battery Jump Starter: It is always a good idea to have this handy, You just never know when you or someone else might need it!
  4. Jumper Cables:  You should always have these in your car regardless if you are traveling or not!
  5. Flashlight: For all the times that you are in an unfamiliar area and need to see more. You might need to save your cell phone battery, so it is always handy to have the flash light.
  6. First Aid Kit: This is also another good item to always have when you are driving around anyways. You just never know when you need something. After all, kids are so unpredictable.

Side note:

  • Safety — Double check that all car seats are installed correctly.
  • Cash – I would recommend $50-$100, broken into smaller bills. It might come in handy for times when are you in a hurry and need money!
  • Spare — A backup cell charger can be a lifesaver if you are low on power.

When traveling sometimes we do forget the basics and the most important things. In fact most of these ideas/items are important even if you aren’t traveling. I usually have all of these things listed above taken care of pretty regularly because you just never know. I am the type of person that when I am not prepared, things go crazy and I get major anxiety. What are some things that you don’t think about for traveling?
